Focused, one-on-one care empowering active people to recover, move freely, and stay strong
At Vivid Physical Therapy, every session is one-on-one for a full hour with your PT's undivided attention.
No overlap, no rush—just focused, collaborative care built around your goals.
We spend that time in conversation and movement, working together to develop a rehabilitation plan that actually makes sense for you. This process takes into account your training history, prior injuries, learning style, goals, strengths, and current limitations so you can get back to doing what you love.
We work with people who:
Want to stay active while recovering
Feel like previous PT didn't fully solve the problem
Are dealing with pain that keeps coming back
Want a deeper, more personalized approach
Whether you are recovering from surgery, have an acute injury, or are dealing with something more nebulous, chronic, or diffuse, we'll work together to figure out what's going on, and what actually helps.

Kevin earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at UIC in 2018. His treatment approach follows a simple progression:
1. Get you out of pain:
Adjust movements and activities so you can start feeling better without having to stop everything you enjoy
2. Expand how your body moves:
Build new movement options so your body isn't stuck relying on the same patterns
3. Build strength so it doesn't come back:
Strengthen those patterns so you can handle the demands of your life long-term
Kevin draws from his extensive knowledge of human movement and uses resistance exercise to assist with treatment. He has a background in holistic movement practices and a manual therapy approach grounded in extensive Thai bodywork training.
He enjoys riding his bicycle, training t’ai chi, bouldering, juggling, growing fruit and vegetables, playing music, baking, and playing with his young children.

I’ve been to PT before. What makes Vivid Physical Therapy different?
At Vivid, we dedicate a full hour of one-on-one time with your physical therapist—no aides, no overlap, and no rushed sessions. This uninterrupted attention allows us to dive deep into understanding the root causes of your pain and movement challenges—something that larger clinics just can't offer.
Unlike many chain clinics, where you may only get 15 minutes of direct contact with the therapist, we focus on personalized care that includes more than just low-intensity exercises. We take the time to tailor your treatment to your specific needs, ensuring you're doing the right exercises in the right way, every session.
Our approach is built on movement optimism—we believe your body can adapt and improve with the right guidance. We don't label movements as "good" or "bad," but we do carefully address movements that are causing pain or discomfort, gradually reintroducing them in a way that’s safe and sustainable.
We combine strength and conditioning principles with hands-on treatment to rebuild your body's strength and movement patterns, helping you get back to the activities you love without fear of re-injury. Whether it's lifting efficiently, building tissue resilience, or avoiding flare-ups during activity, we take a comprehensive approach to your recovery.
Do I need to stop working out?
In most cases, no! We believe staying active is crucial for recovery, so we’ll work with you to modify your workouts instead of stopping them. Depending on your injury, we may adjust factors like load, volume, range of motion, speed, and recovery time. The goal is to keep you moving safely while making progress in your recovery—because we know how important training is for both your body and mind.
Why does my pain keep coming back?
Pain often returns when the body hasn't fully rebuilt its capacity to handle activity. We focus on addressing the root cause, not just providing short-term relief. By gradually rebuilding strength, mobility, power, and endurance, we help you prepare for the demands of your life, reducing the likelihood of your pain recurring.
How long does physical therapy take?
The duration varies depending on your specific situation, but our goal is always to help you make meaningful progress as efficiently as possible. As we work together, you'll gain the knowledge and tools needed to manage your recovery independently, setting you up for long-term resilience and a smooth transition back to your regular training.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit will be a combination of conversation and assessment. We'll discuss your movement history, lifestyle, goals, and the details of your injury or pain. About half the session will be focused on this conversation, with the other half dedicated to physical examination, movement analysis, and exercise prescription as needed.
Please dress for movement. There's also a place to change if needed. Don't forget to complete your intake forms before you arrive so we can hit the ground running.
What are follow-up sessions like?
Follow-up sessions are tailored to your needs, but they typically focus on resistance training—using weights, cables, bands, and other tools. This helps you rebuild strength, improve movement patterns, and reduce pain. Many pain issues stem from how we manage or absorb forces, and we work on overcoming compensatory movement patterns to move more efficiently and with less discomfort.
Fear and anticipation of pain are common obstacles, and there's no better way to address them than with resistance training. As you progress, we may incorporate speed, power, agility, and plyometric training, depending on your goals.
Manual therapy, like soft tissue massage or joint mobilizations, may be used for specific cases, but is typically supplementary. Our primary focus is always on empowering you to generate movement on your own.
Who is this type of PT for?
We work with anyone who's active or wants to become more active. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, we can help you move better and get stronger.
Our clinic is located inside a gym, so comfort and familiarity with gym environments is helpful but not required. It's a warm, welcoming space where all body types, shapes and sizes, fitness levels, and gender identities are celebrated. Rock Solid Health, where we are located, is female-owned and operated.
If you're looking for short sessions, passive treatments, or quick fixes, we may not be the best fit. Our approach focuses on long-term, active recovery.
What injuries do you treat?
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, including:
Back pain, neck pain, and sciatica
Shoulder injuries (frozen shoulder, rotator cuff issues, instability)
Knee pain (ACL injuries, meniscus tears, arthritis)
Foot and ankle injuries (sprains, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis)
Hip and groin pain
Chronic pain or recurrent injuries that don’t resolve with standard PT
We treat the body as a whole, recognizing that injuries don’t exist in isolation. We consider your movement patterns, strengths, weaknesses, habits, and how movement fits into your lifestyle. Our approach embraces the nuances and complexities of each case, helping you gain clarity and purpose through a thoughtful, patient recovery process.
Will I have homework?
If you already have a training routine, we’ll adjust it to address areas that need more focus, such as under-trained regions or movement patterns. If something in your routine is causing irritation, we may temporarily modify or remove it.
For those with gaps in their activity, we'll help you build a balanced plan that targets both cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health. If you life is less active, we may guide you to increase your activity levels. Homework can range from specific exercises to broader lifestyle adjustments, depending on your needs.
What is the clinic like?
Vivid Physical Therapy is located inside Rock Solid Health, a private gym with a vibrant community of active individuals. In addition to physical therapy, the gym offers group fitness classes and personal training. Once you've completed your treatment, you are encouraged to continue your fitness journey with the supportive fitness professionals here.
Do you take insurance?
Vivid Physical Therapy is in-network with all Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans, regardless of the state your plan is based in. We’ll provide a cost estimate based on your insurance details.
For other private insurance companies, we are out-of-network and can provide a Superbill for potential reimbursement. You will be responsible for self-pay at the time of service.
We are not able to process Medicaid or Medicare payers at this time.
If you prefer not to use insurance, a reasonable self-pay rate is available.
Is there parking available?
Free street parking is available on the north side of North Ave and around the corner on Maplewood. Please note that the south side of North Ave is pay-to-park.
Do you provide other services?
While we focus on rehabilitation, we also offer wellness and training services when medical necessity is not a factor. If you'd like to continue working with the physical therapist after your treatment, a self-pay training option is available with the PT, and personal training is also available through Rock Solid Health.
Massage and recovery services are available on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out via email for more details.
